6:00 am
Morning workout at The Bar Method SLC. My team calls it my addiction; I call it selfcare. The Bar Method helps my mind, body, and spirit prepare for long days of trauma-informed care.
8:00 am
Care conference with the team. The multidisciplinary team reviews inpatients, outpatients, and patients who are typically lost to follow-up, making care plans for each while building resiliency and having some fun. Our team includes providers, learners, researchers, community partners, peer support, those with lived experience, and anyone else who wants to love and support individuals while they fight the disease of addiction.
NOON
On a non-clinic day, I invest time working with learners, mentoring them to live the “why” of practicing medicine while treating everyone as someone.
2:00 pm
Hugging Kelsie, a patient who has been from rock bottom to self-sufficient. Kelsie said it best: “The SUPeRAD team showed up and loved me while I learned to love myself.” It takes a village, and now as the clinical director, I am privileged to direct the action.
5:00 pm
Taking a moment to process, regroup, and strategize care plans before coordinating with team members as rooms are turned over. I am thankful for the village caring for individuals with complex needs.
8:00 pm
Volunteering with Soap2Hope, a street outreach nonprofit advocating for those who have been sexually exploited and trafficked. We meet people where they are at so there are fewer barriers to overcome.
